YOUR PRECIOUS

Your Precious!

Like Gollum, you are about to lose something very precious to you….actually you are about to lose a couple of very precious things. But before I tell about the most important, I want to thank you. You gave some many wonderful memories. Your adventurous spirit and your cheerful, cheeky mischievous ways are very dear to me.

I know you trying to figure out what you want to be. Today it’s a pilot; tomorrow it will be a fashion designer. Guess what….I still don’t know, we’ll have to wait for the older one to write a letter to us.  Don’t be discouraged though, everything is working out just fine.

You are about to lose something very precious to you. I can’t tell you when or where you lost it because I don’t know when it happened- but Billy Joel’s In the Middle of the Night is going to be a very profound echo of what you will go through.

Okay, enough of the suspense, I remember how impatient you are-heck, I still peep at the last page of a book- You are going to lose your imagination and it’s going to be really hard figuring out life without it. You know that fairy tale about the daughter whose dad chases her away from home because she told him that she loves him as much as salt loves food? Well, going through life without your imagination is just like that, everything will be bland, gray and tasteless.  Does it sound horrible? It probably is, growing up is a nuisance like a wisdom tooth.

I probably could tell you a million things that you could do differently but it won’t make much of a difference, there is no perfect life, all I want to tell you is, I now realize that you had to lose your imagination so as not to lose your hope. You have to lose your imagination to realize what you truly are- a spindle that spins tales.

Your time will come with many mistakes and a couple of regrets and you will learn to laugh at yourself.  Remember that time is a doctor that heals and experience is a wise a teacher. In a way, you may have sensed how things would turn out, that’s why you were always cheerful and full of love.  Love and laugh all that much more little one, there’s a tough road ahead.
